I heard on the radio the other day that Oasis played Glasgow last week, and had a most interesting experience. Everything was going well on stage until they felt the need to cement their relationship with the people of Glasgow and they should show off their local knowledge. They decided it would be great to dedicate a song to the arrival of Roy Keane to the city. Sufficient to say that a riot followed with old footballing rivalries coming to the surface amongst the crowd.
It reminds me of the near legendary tale of Ally McCoist and Gazza. McCoist told Gazza to celebrate his first goal for the team by walking up and down past the Celtic crowd pretending to play the flute like the pie piper. Poor Gazza thought it was just an extravagant way to celebrate and was bewildered when the Scottish press went nuts calling him a bigot and the local footballing authority heavily fined him…
