David Ervine Dies
I don’t want to say much more as I believe the media are saying it all and for once accurately. For me David was a politician that brought hope and humour to the arena of Northern Irish politics. It’s rare that you see one of these qualities in politicians generally but to hold both is virtually unheard of. Other rare things that he offered included courage and leadership which again within politics and certainly Unionism are a rare commodity. It’s certainly a big loss for our wee province! Whilst I've met him briefly on a few occassions I didn’t get to know him personally, I regret that and I’ll miss his political input!
