
From ugly to beautiful...
I came across this thread on bonfires on a local football forum I’m a member of and it struck me how in Northern Ireland we can often make ugly things beautiful. Graffiti became murals with historical relevance and meaning and in the case of bonfires some have become super structures with architectural merit. Here is a few pics from that thread. While some demonstrate bitterness, insecurity or just plain stupidity others it can be argued show creativity and flair.






It's interesting that with the last bonfire they plan to burn the Ulster and union jack flag. A community turning inwards on itself or just fed up with the whole lot of it?
Also interesting to note is that each one of those blue pallets cost around £15 each...
