Taking time for banana's & sea chicken...
Yesterday Jane and I decided to steal some well deserved time for ourselves and take off for the morning. We headed in the direction of Newcastle stopping first at Dundrum Castle. You forget just how beautiful the view is from up there and since the morning was warm and sunny the bay and mountains stood proudly in their natural splendour. We then trotted on down the road taking a quick brake to look at a town house in Newcastle we thought maybe worth considering buying. Were we wrong!!

We slipped round the corner and had coffee in Mauds. This is one of Jane’s favourite coffee stops, so much so she’s been known to disappear off on her own without warning or notice to this particular establishment. (You know the one I mean, with the glass front in Newcastle.) Jane had her coffee and I had a Bananarama smoothie – highly recommended indeed, who would have though banana, strawberries and raspberries would go so well together? As I starred out of the windows I noticed this new bridge they are just in the process of completing – pretty cool eh?

Finally, before taking a look at a house in Crossgar we went down to the harbour in Newcastle. As we sat bewildered at how much the wind was managing to shake the car we noticed the waves slapping over the harbour wall providing more spray than a formula one drivers Champaign bottle. Visually spectacular and completely inspired we decided to play chicken with the mega monsters! It was absolutely class – we both felt like the teenagers in love we once were… still very much in love, we haven’t laughed so much in ages!

So if you’re feeling pretty stale and stressed follow our example and take some rebellious and unscheduled time out… if you want to complement that with a flirtatious adrenalin rush let us recommend chicken with the waves. It just can’t be beat!!

Ps New pics on "Ma blues hat" and if you fancy a nosey the links on this post are of the houses we looked at...
