Last Night I Had The Strangest Dream
Words and music by Ed McCurdy
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd ever dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war
I dreamed I saw a mighty room
Filled with women and men
And the paper they were signing said
They'd never fight again
And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful pray'rs were prayed
And the people in the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round
While swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground
Last night I had the strangest dream
I'd never dreamed before
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.

This was a song my dad used to sing to me when I was very young and it always brought the goose pimples out on me. Its been sung by various artists down through the years including Simon & Garfungus and Johnny Cash, to name a few. The melody is also very hunting and one that once your reminded of it stays with you for days. I’m very fond of the song for obvious reasons of sentiment and beauty, however I wish that its prophetic voice was just more widely heard and valued.
Ground breaking achievement.....
Well its now official – I’ve lost enough weight to get under the 20st mark. I now weigh 19st 10lbs which means that I’ve lost 22lbs in total. I don’t think I can describe to you what this means to me, other than I’m now giving over to God a stronghold that Satan used to hold over me – To Him be the glory! 1½ stone down – 6 to go! All prayers appreciated!
A word of appreciation:- For the superb lunch a close colleague & friend bought me today!! Thanks Lynda…….
